Me, as a professional.
As an accomplished professional, Lyfe in Tow is not "taking time off," but rather an opportunity to grow, learn and reset. My career has been, and continues to be, a large part of who I am…and I'm proud of that.
Although I'm so many more things than my work, I choose my personal and professional lives to mesh and complement each other. I am who I am – in the office, with friends, around family…and, most recently, on the road. I invest in my roles and perform best when I am passionate about what I'm doing.
My professional story goes a little like this:
7 years living in New York City, marketing magazine brands to potential advertisers. Brands include (sadly, some no longer exist given the nature of print publishing): Maxim, Fitness, In Style and Women's Health.
2+ years living in Denver, continuing my publishing career at Backpacker magazine and marketing other brands such as Vail Resorts and State Farm.
2 years at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business earning an MBA.
5+ years in Columbus, marketing Victoria's Secret internationally to regions including Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
Each step in my career has required taking a risk and getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. For many, an adventure like Lyfe in Tow seems too high a chance. Is it scary? Yes. But just like every other chapter of my professional journey, it’s a growth opportunity that couldn’t be passed up. What I gain from this year will make me a better leader, problem solver, and colleague. It is our experiences that shape us. It is our experiences that teach us. And it is our experiences that grow us.
I plan to make the most of every moment on the road, and equally look forward to sharing and applying these experiences to the next stage of my career.
